1st Semester Assignments for 2014-15

Total Lunar Eclipse on Wednesday, October 8, and partial Solar Eclipse on Thursday, October 23!
The total lunar eclipse will begin at about 2:20am in the early morning hours on October 8. The total phase will begin around 3:27am and last until about 4:23am. The lunar eclipse will end by 5:33am on October 8th. This diagram illustrates the lunar eclipse: Total Lunar Eclipse of October 8, 2014.

The solar eclipse will start at 2:08pm on October 23, be at maximum eclipse at 3:28pm, and end at 4:40pm. At maximum, about 33% of the sun will be eclipsed by the moon. Here is an animation of what it will look like: animation of partial solar eclipse as seen on Oct. 23, 2014 from Los Angeles

Never view an eclipse without the proper, safe eye protection. You can obtain solar eclipse glasses here: Eclipse Glasses. This store is actually on Reseda Blvd.
